We've been experimenting with cold composting our plywood manufacturing waste since 2020. Lab analysis was conducted on mature compost samples aged 18-24 months, showing promising results for transforming workshop waste into valuable soil amendments.

Revolutionise your space with the ultimate modular shelving system designed for flexibility, durability, and aesthetic appeal.
With a focus on one of of our key objectives - waste-minimisation - our product feature this month is the Clip Open Stack
The Starburst Table Mk2 is a striking and unique design that features Maxi Edge plywood arrayed into a star pattern to form the compelling and unusual tabletop. The effect is quite dynamic for a static object, full of movement and energy yet solid and assertive.
We were thrilled to be part of the 2022 Melbourne Design Week (MDW) in March. MDW celebrates design across a program of talks, tours, exhibitions, launches, installations and workshops. The program champions design with a focus on experimentation, innovation and ideas that enrich the world.
Our fearless co-founder Jem has joined forces with Justin Brouillette from Portland CNC in the States to produce a podcast called Parts Dept.
The lockdowns made it clear that many of us can work from home and many of us would like to do it more regularly. Even before the pandemic, the changing nature of work and improving technologies created a situation where more than a third of jobs have aspects that can be done at home.
We are pleased to add a new line of plywood – Hoop Pine – from sustainably managed forest resources in Queensland, via AustralPly. You’ll start to see Hoop Pine being used in our desk designs first, before being rolled out across shelving and crates later this year.
The Luncheon Stools comes in 450mm, 650mm and 750mm heights. Designed with a lightweight, near-indestructible steel frame capable of enduring the day-to-day rigours of hospitality environments or simply as crisp, minimum seating options in the home or workplace.
The tests revealed we were indeed able to produce a good quality compost suitable for a variety of uses including ornamental gardens. We have a little work to do with zinc and copper levels, which only limit the compost in its application in high yield vegetable gardens used for daily consumption.
Sturdy, practical and with a visual appeal created by a staggering of parallel lines, The Shelves are available in several sizes and materials. The natural grains and knots in the radiata pine and birch have particular impact on the uprights and longer shelves.
An exciting project we get to share in January is a special commission for MPavilion in Melbourne. Together with architect Hannes McNamara from MUSK Architecture Studio we have developed The Zorro Chair.
