Easy to move

Flat pack makes it easy to move between rooms, or to move house. It takes around 10 minutes for one person to assemble.

Frequently asked questions

We have not done formal lab testing, but we have lived with these shelves for over 10 years, packed wall to wall with books, with no trouble. They are built from furniture-grade plywood and fixed to the wall, so they carry a serious load.

Yes. Use our online builder to change the size, shelf spacing and layout and build a set to fit your space. For something fully bespoke, submit a quote request and we will help.

Every set comes sealed in a low VOC water-based finish, ready to use. Choose Hoop Pine, a White or Black tinted clear coat, or Blackbutt veneer.

We seal every set because it protects the plywood, makes it easier to clean, and slows discolouration over time. If you have a specific finish in mind, message Jem before ordering.

Yes, they come with a Wall Fixing Kit and we recommend having an appropriately accredited tradesperson fix The Shelves to a wall using suitable fixing devices to prevent them from tipping over.
