DISCONTINUED PRODUCT - Limited stock available
We always prefer a hinged door but if you’re after a really simple indexed lid for horizontal applications, this is it.
The original Ply Crate – previously known as the Ply Milk Crate – was one of our first ever products, and has since featured in a bunch of blogs and design magazines in its raw plywood form. Over ten thousand units later, we now offer both the original Ply Crate in various sizes, and a newer flat-pack design that helps us move towards our aspiration of ‘zero-waste’.
Each crate is cut from sheets of 12mm plywood by Cameron, our CNC machine. It is then assembled (by humans) and stacked, ready to ship.
Designer: Jem Selig Freeman. The Crates were designed and prototyped in our previous workshop in Kensington, Melbourne.
- Radiata Ply: 12mm Radiata Plywood, raw sanded finish
- Birch Ply: 12mm Birch Plywood, raw sanded finish
- Black/White Birch Ply: 12mm Birch Plywood with a melamine film, raw edges*
*Note that the Black/White Birch Ply often has some minor surface imperfections that are aesthetic only and do not affect the performance of the material.
It’s a lid, ok. Put it on. Take it off. Repeat.
Made in our Castlemaine workshop by a small team, with the finest quality materials.
