KittaParts

KittaParts

The Design Files + Laminex Design Awards

Our most recent product development, KittaParts – a modular shelving system created completely from timber components – was a finalist for The Design Files + Laminex Design Awards 2021. The furniture design category recognises distinctive products developed in Australia and we were thrilled to also receive a Commendation in the category during the awards presentation at Federation Square in September.

Judge Nick Rennie said, “A really wonderful solution that shows great skill in every aspect of the product, including both design and manufacture, but most importantly the thinking of how this idea can add to the lives of those who use it, and not just a gimmick through its use of technology and construction.”

KittaParts can be assembled in a variety of different ways, depending on purpose, place or your aesthetic stylings. Designed and prototyped in our purpose-built, carbon-neutral workshop in Castlemaine, KittaParts comes in several colour options and delivers a bespoke feel while retaining the advantages of flat-pack design. The threaded dowels are produced using Tasmanian oak and finished in natural oil to deliver subtle but wonderfully distinct variations of grain, knots and colour.

A really wonderful solution that shows great skill in every aspect of the product, including both design and manufacture, but most importantly the thinking of how this idea can add to the lives of those who use it, and not just a gimmick through its use of technology and construction.
